A time of renewing....

So, I have really wanted to get back to blogging. Many times I will be driving and think, that is a great topic to blog about, only to go on with my life. Needless to say, it does not get done. I will try to blog better in the future (OK Carol??)

Life is still the same in NLR. Jobs are INCREDIBLY busy! I am working as a LSW (licensed social worker) in a local nursing home. This is my second NH job. (I have since learned that with NH sometimes it's similar to the police, when you get a new leader, other are brought in). I won't go into the story but I can say that the change was definately for the better. Now, do I still work long hours and need a vacation? YES!!!! It's a very challenging job.

Aimee is doing great. She is in 3rd grade and is so bright. She is in the top of her class with her composite test scores. Her grades are pretty good and her homework grade would be better if she remembered to turn it in. Her teacher says "Aimee do you have to have a personal invitation to turn it in?". Third grade is HARD.....at least for me! Her spelling words are just so much longer than in the past (which I know, is the point) and they are working on multipication and cursive. My baby is not a baby anymore!!! She was working with us on her skip counting and we were rocking the 2's and 5's. She then asked me to do the 12's after I surpassed her on the 3's. I could not do them and had to stop 1/2 way in.

Anyway, my early morning post is to an end....she is awake and ready to watch the sunrise!

When I picked Aimee up from school on Friday, I had a mother's day book she gave me. It said this..... (oh and btw, this is HER spelling, not mine)

My mom is so speasl (special).
She is prettier then a princess.
She is the best mom ever.
My mom loves cook chicken (she told me later she left out the to in the sentence).
My mom is the best!

A couplet by AimeeMy mom is so cute I hope she likes the floot (flute). My mom is so pritty. she probly likes a kitty.TEARS! This makes all the tough times worth it. Best coffee table book I could ever have.

Aimee has also started karate. She looks so grown up in there going "hiya" and blocking her coach. We had 3 lessons and a uniform for $20 so we shall see how good she does before we committ to it.

Weekend at Carol's

We went to Carol's this weekend.....Saw my dad, stepmother, momma, and D's parents. This is our "Mother's Day" weekend....

Mother's Day is always a hard day for me. There were many many years I longed for just "one" child to hold in my arms. I remember praying, crying, fasting, begging....just for God to let me have a child.

Here is a poem that I want to share with you. You will find it on my blog from last year.....i want to never forget.

…For the married women who desire to have children and cannot.

Also, for the single women who desire children yet are getting weary waiting on a spouse. God understands your situation and we care. “In the name of Jesus, we ask that the Holy Spirit will comfort your heart and give you peace and that our Father God would grant you your petition. Amen.” (1 Samuel 1:2-17)

For the single mom. God understands your challenge and we care. “In the name of Jesus, we ask that the grace of God will sustain you, the wisdom of God lead you, the love of God encompass you, and the provisions of God overtake you. Amen.” (Philipians 4:13)

For the moms with a child who has chosen a destructive lifestyle and is in a physical or spiritual prison. God understands your concern and we care. “In the name of Jesus, we ask that the Holy Spirit would convict them of sin. We ask for the perfect laborers to cross their path. We thank God for their salvation, deliverance and restoration. Amen.” (Proverbs 11:21)

For all the moms who experience grief on Mothers Day because of miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, or a childs death outside the womb.

For all those men and women who experience grief on Mothers Day because of the loss of their mom. God understands and we care. “In the name of Jesus we ask that the Holy Spirit will comfort your hearts and give you peace. Jesus bore your grief so you don’t have to. Jesus we thank you for removing the grief and healing the heart. Amen” (Isaiah 53:4)

In the name of Jesus we pray for all of our mothers on Mothers Day. May God our Father bless you and strengthen you and encourage you. May your eyes be opened that you and others may see that your price is far above rubies and may your children rise up and call you blessed. (Proverbs 31:10-31)”
