My weekend!

It rained on Saturday, all day.I am SO tired of rain. All it ever does in Eldo is rain, rain, rain Anyway, being the good housewife that I am, I decide that I am going to really clean my house. Side note....my mom did not clean house growing up. It was really bad and scarred both Carol and I for life. Needless to say, our houses are always clean and we never go to bed with dishes in the sink!

The house didn't need much work, just the deep cleaning stuff. After we cleaned the house, I made lunch and then we headed out to see Ratatooule or however you say it. Anwyay, the movie was lame for an adult but Aimee liked it so that is all that matter.
We get home and D decides he wants sushi for dinner so I go make it. He has to run to the store and when he came back he suprises me with this......

Can I say my husband ROCKS! I have wanted one of these since I got my Ipod. I have priced several different ones but he found this one for me. So, I am now waking up to my own music and not the radio. You can wave your hand in front of the thing and it even snoozes without you touching it. I am sooo spoiled to this. I think I will want to stay in the bed all day now.

Cleaning the house and making sushi sure pays off!

How busy we are.....

I decided last night that we are just too busy now a days in society. I t seems that as grownups we are always running back and forth from one task to another one. I think life was much less complicated when I was a teenager and the only thing I had to worry about was getting to school on time.

I went to Office Depot today and drooled over the planners. I don't know what it is about this time of the year and planners but man, I want one. Now the one that I have is perfectly fine for the rest of the year and I don't always use the planner that I have but when I see the brand new ones I want one. They have turquoise, salmon, leather, bonded leather, pleather, paper, graphics, plain...it's like sensory overload. I just cant go back in there until July or I will cave.

what a day....

Today was a BUSY day for me. I was at work at 6:30 ONLY because I had tons of work to do. I get to work and there is absoutely no work for me to do because I don't have a key to my supervisors office AND I also can't get online still from my new computer. So, I got to have a few minutes to redo paperwork.

Then, off to school for Aimee to see her new school. Of course, $200 later in deposits, she decided she likes it. Glad she does, private school is expensive.

Before I left work today, I finally got internet. It's been almost 6 weeks since I started my new job and my computer had been ordered forever. It finally arrived and I am good to go.

Lets see, Aimee had to get 4 shots today for school. She had her polio shot's when she was less than 3 years old and Arkansas has some dumb law that states that you have to have your last polio shot after you are 4. I had already told her that she was only going to get 2 but then she had to get 4. Darrell said it was awful and they had to hold her down. She is always so scared and it's always hard to get shots at her age.

Well, off to a ball game! Last tee ball game tonight!

Hit my goal!

I started losing weight about 2 years ago. I would work at it very good for a while and then I would stop. I kept doing this for a while but these past 3 months I decided to buck up and go for it.

So, I weighed today and I have hit my first mini goal!!! I have lost 40 pounds! I am so excited. I went to the store today and bought 2 new dresses. It was so nice to be able to not have to go to the plus sizes.

I am not eating as much as I have in the past. I still struggle with the fruits and water because I don't have much of an appetite. I still go work out about 4-5 times a week for 45 minutes to an hour. I need to do more strength training but I don't really like to do that so I haven't been doing it much.

We booked a cruise for December and my next goal is to be 20 pounds lighter. That gives me about 6 months to lose 20 more pounds. I can do it!

Growing up quickly

Aimee, Darrell and I were talking on Sunday night about Jesus. Aimee said that she knew that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. We asked her if she would like to ask Jesus to live in her heart and she prayed for salvation. Our baby is a Christian!!! This is the biggest joy to Darrell and I. We have prayed for this since before she was born.

She also has a loose tooth, or rather did. She pulled it out today and now has a little snaggletoothed litte grin. I love it. Tonight was her first tee ball game. She scored both times she batted. I can't belive how big she is.

I think I hear the tooth fairy.....gotta go!

Thoughts for today

Faith
"Faith is the assurance of things hoped for; the conviction of things not seen" Hebrews 11:1

I read this verse today when I got to work. I thought about it this morning. Faith is something that is hard for me and countless other Christians. I know that I have faith in somethings. For instance, gravity is something that I have faith in. I have faith that when I sit down in my chair, it's going to hold me up. If I sat down and it didn't, I would lose my faith in gravity.

Right now, I am having a lonely day. Before I say this let me preface that I LOVE Eldo. I miss my life in Tyler. I miss MY old job (not Darrell's, this one is a MUCH better fit for us). I miss my home. I miss my friends. I miss my life there. I miss going out to the chinese place with my coworker. I miss going to the Mall or running over to Michael's to buy something I forgot. Because Eldo is so small, I can't do those things anymore.

Moving to a new city requires faith. It requires me getting up each morning in a small town, in a house that still does not really feel like mine and going to a job that I really am no satsfied at with the assurance that I must trust God. Faith requires committment. Good thing I am committed!

Haven't updated in a while

I know. I am so lame about posting to our blog. Here are our updates:

Darrell- Things are going well at church. He is really developing relationships with the students at our new church. We love these students. It's refreshing to have a Godly group of students who desire to seek God for their lives. We did have 2 students (a couple who were dating) that were involved in a wreck on Sunday. The girl is going to have to have surgery on her arm later on this week. We are praying for them both as they recover. It is a true miracle that neither one of them were killed as many other teenagers have not been as lucky on that road.

Aimee- Well, this little dynamite is doing well. She has not been feeling well lately and we took her to the doctor where he gave her 2 different allergy medicines to get her back to normal. She has her first T ball pratice tomorrow afternoon. That is going to be so exciting. She is enjoying school and AWANA's at the church and is a joy to Darrell and I.

Renee- Well, this month is going to be a busy month for me. I have to travel 2 different times away from my family. I am going to Houston for a training for work and then I will be attending a Hannah's Prayer BOD meeting and conference at the end of the month. I am excited about this time with my friends but I am not excited about leaving my family for that long of a time. The trips are 4 days away, 5 days home and then 5 days away.

Aimee and I traveled to Tyler last weekend to see our old friends. We met up at Chuck E Cheese's and had a great time. I love visiting with my friends but there are always so many of us, it's hard for us all to talk. I so miss my Tyler friends. It was wierd to be back in Tyler and think how much this town still feels like home. I was like that though when we left WM and so I am sure it will get better. I do like El Dorado but there are not many job opportunities for me here so that is a bummer.

At this time we don't have any summer plans. We would like to take a crusie but that will either be at the end of this year or sometime next year. I have to earn some time off and we want Darrell's parents to go with us when we go. They enjoy crusing and Aimee so it will be a good family time. Darrell has summer camp in Mississippi that I am going to try and get some time off to go.

Anyway, that is what is up with the Deans!
